Where do my dues go? Over the past few years the league has addressed many important issues, including: the RP library renovation, the Rotunda project, speeding along Roland, University and Cold Spring, crime in the community, the Stone Run stream restoration, zoning issues along Falls Road, and of course the planned sale of 17 acres of Baltimore Country Club land for development by the Keswick Multi-Care Center. The League contributed to the improvement of this web site, the RP Elementary School playground, and the library. To join the Roland Park pool, you must be a Civic League member.

Why should you pay? Without active civic associations, even historic neighborhoods can soon deteriorate into little more than glorified bedroom communities, with no sense of place, no sense of being. The Civic League has fought for Roland Park for well over a century, and has served as a medium through which creative and eager residents have been able to channel their energies to the benefit of the greater good. Won't you help us keep up this mission?

Can I donate to charities through the Civic League?
A
While it is not possible to donate to any old charity of your choosing through the Civic League, we have set up a system so that you can contribute on line to charities or causes selected by the league. These may change from time to time but, at the time of this writing (fall 2008), there are two: the fund for the purchase and preservation of land currently owned by the Baltimore Country Club to prevent, in perpetuity, its development; and the fund for improvements to the Roland Park firehouse on Upland Road, which has served our neighborhood since its inception. To donate, please scroll down until you see the appropriate PayPal button below. Having made your selection, then follow the on-screen instructions. Contributions are tax-deductible if so described next to the button.
