Roads & Maintenance Debris Pickup |
A passing glance at neighboring Baltimore streets and communities can be a striking reminder of the effort needed to maintain the special and beautiful appearance of Roland Park. To assist residents in achieving this, Roads and Maintenance coordinates with both private contractors and many Baltimore City agencies to maximize every available service. Ultimately, our success depends upon the participation and cooperation of each and every one of us! Updated services and seasonal information can be found in each edition of the Roland Park News which is mailed directly to each residence. For further community information or assistance, please contact The Roland Park Roads and Maintenance office at 410.494.0125 BULK TRASH and OTHER CITY SERVICES The City will remove up to three items of bulk trash (refrigerators, furniture, etc.) from residents on a monthly basis. Our pick-up date is the Fourth Wednesday of Each Month. Call 311 to arrange pick-up within 3 days of our scheduled day and be sure to obtain a Service Request Number. If you don’t receive a service request number, you are not on the list for pick-up! Residents can also contact 311 for information and assistance with other City services, such as storm drain unclogging, sewer back-up issues, graffiti removal, alley and vacant lot cleaning, burned out street and traffic lights, etc. Again, be sure to obtain a service request number! THE ONGOING 2006 ORGANIC In addition to maintaining the common areas in our community, our association has a long standing tradition of assisting Roland Park homeowners in maintaining the beauty of their individual properties. To that end, we have established an on-going debris removal program. Our current contractor, Tru-Green Landcare, will remove two cubic yards (about the size of a refrigerator) on a monthly basis from every household which pays eight (8) times the basic community Roads and Maintenance fee (an unbelievably low cost for debris removal, ((and other services)), especially compared to the cost to hire a private debris-hauling contractor for the year). This debris is then hauled to a local mulching facility where it is recycled. Thus, not only do we keep our neighborhood tidy, we are keeping large amounts of organic debris out of the solid waste stream. The R&M fee is now due for 2006 services. New Roland Park residents can call 410.494.0125 for more information. DUMPSTER PICKUPBaltimore City places a roll-off dumpster in our community on three weekend in the fall. This is for the use of Roland Park residents only and not for contractors (call 311 to report illegal dumping). Items placed should not include hazardous materials, household appliances, tires or rims. The schedule of roll-off dates and locations is distributed in the monthly e-newsletter (click here to subscribe).

Remember, we are fortunate to reside in a park! Each year, over 4000 cubic yards of tree and shrub debris is collected from participating homeowners. For this program to run smoothly, each participant must abide by the following guidelines:
